214 - "To be great is to be misunderstood."

She doesn't think that she's great at all. In fact, she knows that she's nowhere near being great. Commander Adama is great, though.

She wonders if he's misunderstood. She doesn't think he is.

She shot him. Does that mean people don't really understand her? No, she supposes that since she's a toaster, it really doesn't matter much anyway. She thinks as she sits in her cell that maybe people could understand her point of view on everything if they bothered to talk to her, but when Chief is brought in with her, he won't hold her at all. Won't hug her.

She cries, and not for the first time.

She's just Sharon Valerii, the rook Raptor pilot who botches her landings, who loves a man who hates her, who shot the man she admires, and who is probably going to die.

She thinks to herself, May the gods have mercy on my soul, then realizes that perhaps, she has no soul. Even if she did, even if she wasn't a toaster, she's still not much of anything.

Would the gods really have time for someone like her?
