220 - If you could buy a magic potion, what would it be?

Once upon a time, there was a frakked-up little toaster named Sharon who thought she was a human – or could at least pass for one and no one would care. She went so far as to marry a human and have a child with him, thinking that night after night as their baby cried in the small crib while she folded laundry, that she had truly managed to become human. She'd fooled them all, even Admiral Adama, who trusted her and had allowed her to become an officer in the Colonial Fleet. She'd made human friends and had turned her back on her own race. Everything was perfect.

Everything was a lie.

One girl in all the land by the name of Cally knew the truth. She spoke out, warning others not to be so trusting of Sharon, and for this, Sharon punished the girl by taking her sidearm and threatening her. How could someone hate her so, Sharon mused to herself? What had she done wrong? She didn't know what to do, for her friends all told her that they still believed in her, but did that make her human? Did that make her a Cylon? Did it make it neither of them?

She sought out one of the oracles that her human friends had spoken of on a whim. "Take this," the oracle said, handing a vial of liquid to Sharon. "Drink this, and all your wishes will come true." With the bottle in hand, Sharon returned to her quarters. Would the liquid turn all of her friends into Cylons? Would it turn her into a human? And which of the two did she truly want?

Sharon sipped the magical elixir, and when she opened her eyes, the world was exactly the same. Nothing had changed at all, except at last, she knew the truth about what she was and what she wanted.

Her husband returned home with their daughter and Sharon held her tightly with one arm while the other held onto her husband. And they lived happily…? Ever after.
