It was late on the Cylon Baseship, and Boomer wasn't thinking about Chief Galen Tyrol at the time. She was trying to do some tai-chi while the Hybrid babbled on, trying to ignore everything that her heart was telling her was wrong about Cavil's plan.
She had no idea that at the same time, the man she used to love with all her heart was grieving for the death of his wife in a very unusual way. No idea that her name was brought up over and over, and that the one thing she had hoped for ever since she had been shot, killed, and downloaded was true.
Galen Tyrol loved her. Loved her as much as she had loved him, even though he never said so. Back on New Caprica, when Jammer had asked her to release Cally from the prison, she actually attempted to free her – only because she was the wife of Galen and apparently made him happy.
She was simply known as "Boomer" now; no longer Sharon. Sharon was the one who lived on Galactica with a husband and child, with the life that Boomer had always wanted and dreamed of having with Galen. As she moved slowly into her next position, the Hybrid still talking in the background, Boomer thought only of Cavil and how he had filled that empty hole left behind when Galen had rejected her. She didn't know of his tirade, his demotion, his feelings for her.
She didn't know he was a Cylon like she was, something that he'd feared all along.
If she'd known what he was thinking and saying about her, about how he had "settled", then perhaps Boomer's life wouldn't have felt so empty as well. Perhaps she wouldn't have felt as though she had "settled" herself.
Perhaps…
