"I can't believe it, Karl. Did you hear? Everything?"

Sharon was pacing back and forth in her quarters while Helo was doing his best to quiet her down to keep Hera from waking up.

"He's in jail, now. Because of me. Zarek is in jail, and thank God for that, but I had to arrest him. You didn't see the look in his eyes when I boarded Colonial One." She finally stopped pacing and sat on the couch, trying to calm herself. "Is this what we've really come to? People threatening to mutiny? The Hitei Kan jumping and taking all of our tylium? What were they thinking?"

Suddenly, Sharon was getting upset again, and Helo walked back to her and sat on their couch, holding her hand and letting her just vent.

"You were there, talking to Admiral Adama. Who else was there?" She waved a hand. "It doesn't matter. What matters is the meeting happened and the decision was made. Put the Cylon technology onto all the ships. We can make the FTLs run three times as fast as any normal ship in the fleet. It just makes sense to me, especially after the handshake. After Earth. After destroying The Hub and becoming allies, and..."

Helo finally shushed his wife while he rubbed her back. Sharon sighed and leaned against his shoulder, looking over at Hera.

"It's like it's starting all over again, that fear of Cylons, and I'm going to get trapped in the middle of it. It's like it's Kobol or Caprica or New Caprica all over again, and I'm going to end up being the Cylon who can't be trusted even though I'm the one who frakking arrested Zarek. Karl..."

He stroked her hair and let her cry, hoping she was wrong.

OOC: You captured the mood of the entire episode perfectly. No one knows where to turn or who to trust, yet one can't help but feel that this clash is inevitable, no matter who pulls the first trigger. Too much stubborness and hatred from every side is about to come to a head and Sharon stands to lose (or gain) a lot depending on how things play out.

Absolutely perfect.

I've gotta get my muse head on straight, but I'll be adding to the post-Earth party very soon.

Frak, I know what you mean. Even people who frakking associate with Cylons are under suspicion. And people you'd never believe are the ones doing the suspecting. I just ... don't need this right now, on top of everything else, and neither do you. It's frakking ridiculous.
