The weapon was aimed at him.
Sharon had her weapon aimed at Commander Adama, then handed it to him, telling him how she made her own choices. This was, of course, after he had a look of death in his eyes upon seeing her.
The weapon was aimed at the Centurians.
Sharon fired and saved the group, hands still bound, even after Lee Adama had held a weapon of his own against her, claiming she had shot his father.
The weapon was aimed at her.
Sharon had tried to fit into the Fleet as best as possible, but she knew Cally would never accept her. She simply did not know that the woman could possibly sink so low as to planting a bomb within her Raptor.
There had been relief, visibly clear on Sharon's face when the elder Adama had accepted her. Trust, naturally, had come later, but there was a measure of acceptance there on the planet that she always remembered. There had been vindication, of course, when his hot-headed son had looked at Sharon in shock -- disbelieving that a Cylon would actually assist humanity to locate the Tomb of Athena.
She hated herself, though, that the feel of revenge against an unimportant worker felt so good. The look of panic on Cally's face as she thought that Sharon might actually shoot her… the failed attempt to shoot Sharon once the weapon had been handed to the other woman… the timbre of her own voice lowering in pitch as Sharon whispered her own warning before walking away, leaving Cally frightened? Sweet.
Sharon had known them all, used them all as her own weapons to further herself into their world and be accepted. She wondered, though, why it always ended up taking the form of her own sidearm to achieve it.

Date: 2007-07-23 09:44 pm (UTC)I was wrong about you, you were wrong about me. How about we make an attempt to wipe the slate clean and start over, as fellow crewmembers?
OOC: Very nice!

Date: 2007-07-24 10:32 am (UTC)I was wrong about the bomb, too, even though I never actually accused you.
OOC: I'm actually very impressed by how seamless the prompt response is. It's very hard to accomplish what you did without rambling all over the place.

Date: 2007-07-25 09:45 am (UTC)Let's stop dancing around the subject. I'll ask one more time. I realize that I seem to be at a disadvantage here, because you're a commissioned officer and can treat me any way you damn well choose to. Can we be civil to one another, for the ship's sake? You say you love this ship and its crew. I'll go one step further and say that I love this fleet. We can't protect it if we're too busy arguing with each other.
Is there any room for civility on your part? Because I think I can manage it.

Date: 2007-07-31 03:26 am (UTC)How about this? I will stop referencing the incident with your gun. I will do everything I can to remember that you're sensitive to the whole
toasterCylon thing. I will stay away from your daughter if you'd like me to, even though I have to inform you that you have nothing to fear with regards to that.If we're being professional here, we should respect each other. But maybe we can at least make an attempt to earn each other's personal respect.
I'm tired of fighting. We stop fighting our enemies and we die. But if we stop fighting each other, maybe we'll survive.

Date: 2007-07-31 08:39 am (UTC)Just... if you hate me? Fine. I just don't want to hear about it from anyone. Talk all you like about me behind my back, just make sure it doesn't get back to either Helo or me. That's about all I'm asking.
It's all I asked for before.

Date: 2007-07-31 03:15 am (UTC)Look, I'm sorry. I really am. But the two of you... and then bringing the workers in general into the thing. It's important for me that you understand that I don't care that you think that Cally is unimportant, because I know her better than you could ever hope to. It's my people. All of them. And they're your people, too.
It's funny how you can say one thing that's taken the wrong way by a slightly sensitive party, isn't it?
OOC: He was being a whiny little emo and deliberately took it the wrong way. Athena can bitchslap him if she wants, because he deserves it.

Date: 2007-07-31 08:43 am (UTC)You know what? You're wrong, Galen. My people are the ones I'm fighting. I've betrayed my entire race -- my "people". And for what? So I can be treated like I'm nothing?
Leave it alone, Galen. I'm not your wife. And I'm not the girl who loved you, either, even though I've got all those memories still.
Just leave it alone.
