260 - Five Minutes

I saw him on the way to the Raptor that would take me to the Zephyr.
My sister Cylon said nothing to me as we walked, but I saw him. Felix.
He slipped as he tried to enter the Raptor, and I knelt to help him inside. I knew, right then, that he either didn't recognize me or he didn't want to say anything in front of his shipmates. Part of me, though, ached. Why didn't he?
It was okay, though. I could stay quiet if he needed me to. I could wait to talk to him until we were on the Zephyr.
Fifteen minutes away, though, and everything went wrong. We had to make an emergency jump and when the DRADIS was checked, the pilots told us that the entire fleet was gone. We'd lost them, somehow. No fleet, no hostile Cylons like we'd thought... just nothing.
My Sister Cylon even said she couldn't recognize the star patterns.
I guess that was when I decided to break my silence. We weren't in danger of Cavil finding us, after all, and we'd all have to conserve air as we waited for Galactica to save us somehow. So, I got a little bit braver than that moment outside the Raptor when all I had done was touch Felix.
I spoke to him.
"Don't you recognize me, Felix?"
He didn't say anything back. I waited as the minutes passed, and he said nothing in response, but I had to know if he remembered me. Remembered us.
I let the quiet fill the Raptor again, though. We had to conserve the air, after all... at least, that was what I told myself.
