Helo doesn't sleep well at night.

((Locked from Helo))

I think that he thinks I sleep all the way through it, but he's wrong. Obviously, one of us has to be there for Hera when she wakes up in the middle of the night, and I don't mind being the one doing it. Funny thing is, my side of the bed is on the right, smack up against the wall. That basically means that if she wakes up, my husband will be the one to go and take care of her, not me. It's okay.

It's just the times when he doesn't sleep because of his job that worry me.

Like, that business with the Sagittarons? I get that it upset him. I do, I really do... God, if anyone should understand prejudice around here, it would be me. And I get that he's upset with his new job now that he's no longer XO.

I get it. What I don't get is exactly why he feels the need to prove something.

Someone's in trouble, so Captain Agathon will take a stand. We all do our jobs to the best of our abilities, but for God's sake, Karl. Just who are you trying to prove something to around here? Me? You? The rest of Galactica? Are you trying to prove that you're a good man? We all know that already. Are you trying to prove that you're reliable? Honorable? Good at your job?

You saved Dee's life, probably. I'm pretty sure the next round of drinks at Joe's will all be to toast you, but baby, you're the one who always told me that it was you and me and frak the rest of the world. Right? And now there's Hera, so it's us, just us, and it doesn't matter what anyone thinks of you. I love you. Hera loves you. Just leave work alone and out of our quarters so that when we go to sleep, I can actually sneak in a snuggle or two with my husband without him trying to slip his way out of bed.

((Unlocked))

But, we'll keep working on the sleep deprivation. It's kind of hard to do with a baby, but we'll manage.

Is it me or does Helo have a knight in shinning armor complex. No really!

"What I don't get is exactly why he feels the need to prove something."

Helo has been defined by being with you for so long, that maybe he needs to distance himself from that definition, He needs to be more then the man who married a Cylon. I do not think his feelings about his own place in the world in anyway shape or form detract from the overwhelming love he has for you and your daughter, I still think he would walk through hell and take down all the gods to protect you and Hera, very simply you and Hera are his life.

Hi. This is [livejournal.com profile] daughter_of_m but I logged into my personal journal so I can use my Helo icon because it pretty much says it all. Helo is 100% Gryffindor. He has a "saving-people-thing" bad.

I adore Sharon. She's the character I most identify with on the show and I love what you're doing. The bit about the mobile is *adorable*.

:)

*snickers*

Jumping in here to not only agree with you, but to tell you that I used MY personal journal to tell you how fantastic your current X-Men review of 'The Woman King' was. *HEE*

:D Thank you! I love doing those, it's more fun than just writing what I think. I do love to mix in my fandoms!

Thank you so much! She's always been my personal favorite on the show. (Strangely enough, when I was reading "The Avengers", Wanda was also my favorite... *L*)

It just seemed like Kara would do something like that for them, too. Wasn't the crib too cute?

I really liked seeing domestic Helo&Sharon, even though they were fighting it was utterly cute. <3 Hera's the sweetest.

I can see similarities in Sharon and Wanda (I might spend far too much time thinking about it really). I was all excited that the cylons were talking to Wanda (even if it was to poke fun at her taste in men, lol).

Oh, I'm all for mixing fandoms in terms of everyone talking. Sharon actually likes to talk to people -- I think mainly because she's unused to people listening to her.

Getting there? What did Doc Cottle say?

That I'd be fine after a bit of bitamusin and bed rest. Same as the rest of them. Is Hera feeling better?

Yeah. I mean, she wasn't really sick to begin with, at least not in the way that we all thought she was. I asked Cottle to look at her, though, just to be sure because even after all of this, he's still the only one I somewhat trust.

Bed rest, huh? Lee must be happy.

I don't envy him. Though I do hear that Helo's doing a hell of a job down in Dogsville. I can order him to rest, if you think that'd help.

He is, and I'd appreciate it, actually. Just don't tell him that I suggested it.

I know, I know. You just... you don't have to try and do everything on your own, okay? That's all.
