Folding laundry. Feeding the baby. Simple, everyday chores that a normal human would do, and Sharon loves them all. What Helo doesn't know, though, is what happens when he lets her curl up against him, away from the wall and towards his back. He doesn't know what happens when Sharon sleeps.
Men walking in, armed.
Who are you?
A photograph. Questions she can't answer.
I don't know. Why are you doing this? I don't know.
A hand reaching around her throat, squeezing until she coughs for air.
I don't know!
The cold feel of the wall against her back as she's shoved by him.
No!
Backhanding her, punching her, tears rolling down her bruised face.
Why?
Orders. Other men holding her face down on the cot as he pulls down her pants.
No, God, no, please, why?
Blood on her wrists. His pants hit the floor and she feels him behind her.
Stop it stop it stop it stop it stop it... No!
She wakes up with the word "no" on her lips, crying from the nightmare. The bruises are gone, the cracked rib has been healed, and Hera somehow survived it all. Sharon looks at the wall and remembers the feel of that steel against her, and curls closer to her husband's back.
Some things, some people, never seem to fade away the way they should.
